Standing notes

Grit is never in the 100%. Insoluble grit is offered free-choice on the side — it has no nutrients, and folding it into the ration math is the classic beginner error.

Oyster shell supplements, never substitutes. Free-choice shell lets a layer top up calcium overnight while the shell forms — the formulated limestone in the mix still carries the base load.
